Drone Point Cloud Survey Service

A drone point cloud survey is a method of capturing accurate and detailed data of a site or structure using drones equipped with specialized sensors and cameras. This technique is widely used in construction, surveying, and engineering for terrain assessments, mapping, and monitoring site progress.

Drones, also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), fly over a designated area and capture aerial data using downward-facing sensors such as RGB or multispectral cameras and LiDAR payloads2. During the survey, the ground is photographed multiple times from different angles, and each image is tagged with coordinates.

The captured data is then processed using drone mapping software to create construction assets like 3D models, 2D maps, and digital elevation models, from which highly accurate measurements and volumetric calculations can be taken.

Point clouds are data-rich digital assets that can be used to analyze elevations, distances, volumes, and on-site progress, driving understanding, collaboration, and decision-making.
