Dean Banks, the man behind Wagyu Burger and Haar At Home, runs the pompadour, a fine dining establishment. To take their Edinburgh restaurant to life, they turned to our Matterport services to create an interactive, three-dimensional virtual tour that included video footage, booking links and information about the restaurant.
The final product was an immersive experience that allowed visitors from all over the world to explore the interior of The pompadour in detail. From the dollhouse view to the top-down view, users could navigate their way through the space with ease. And, for those who wanted to book a table, the booking links were easily accessible.
What Is Our Matterport Service?
Matterport is the leading provider of 4k 3D scanning cameras for businesses. We use their patented cameras to create digital twins of locations. These scans can be used for marketing or informational purposes. The whole scanning process took 45 minutes for a location this size.
How We Created a 3D Virtual Tour of The Pompadour
To create a virtual tour of The pompadour, we first needed to capture the space using our Matterport scanning cameras. We set up the camera in the restaurant and captured all of the footage needed to create a 3D model of the space. This process took around 45 minutes, and we were able to capture every inch of the restaurant.
Once the scanning was complete, we used our software to process the footage and create a model of the space. This took around 1 hour, but it was worth the wait – the final product was stunning.
The virtual tour can be explored on any device, from desktop computers to mobile phones. And for those who want to book a table at The pompadour, the booking links are easily accessible from within the tour.

The pompadour was keen to include booking links on their virtual tour. This is a great way to increase bookings and keep customers up-to-date with the latest information about the restaurant.
